You have a natural instinct. Everyone has a natural inclination.  Maybe you've been hanging out with this guy and, while you like him, he's not giving you what you want. But it's not because he dislikes you. You have the impression that you are attracted to each other. And those emotions aren't fabricated. If you notice evidence that signs he pretending not to like you, he's probably falling for you and won't admit it. A guy may be pretending not to like you or downplaying his attraction for a variety of reasons. He might think you're already taken or that you're not interested in him. If you're coworkers, classmates, or even simply extremely good friends, he might be concerned about embarrassing situations if his affections are revealed. In most circumstances, though, a guy who can't be honest about his interest in you isn't worth your time. If he's acting like this, he's sending you confusing signals! And when a guy sends you conflicting signals, it's typically because he really likes you but can't figure out how to express it.
